High Speed Rail Management: Topics
The HSR 102 course will be a series of three interactive lectures to amplify the HRS 101 information and developing some specific knowledge of international practices and analyses. The course will start with a good look at the current status of US policy towards investment in High Speed and Intercity Rail (Lecture 1) and then moving to Additional Technical Material on details on the electrification system, the signaling systems, and the civil infrastructure (Lecture 2) and finally a look at issues of environmental impact, ridership and revenue risk, and traffic forecasting (Lecture 3).
- The required reading materials for each lecture is under the label Reading Materials. The "Supplementary Materials" are not required reading, but are referred to by the required reading and will help to supplement your knowledge.
- After reading the required materials, post any questions or comments to the discussion boards.
- Quizzes are based on the lecture videos.
